Why living in Arnhem is the best
Arnhem offers the best in city living and it a great place to live long term because of so many reasons. First Arnhem is a historic city; the places and sights to see in the city are not just historic but the buildings are stronger than modern constructions like the Groote Kerk (St. Eusebius). This church was built way back in 1452 to 1560 but a large portion of it stands to this day. It has lost most of its tower during World War II but has been reconstructed. Another amazing structure is the House of Maaarten van Rossum which serves as a town hall since the early 1800. It has amazing Renaissance design and interiors which has earned it the name “devil’s house” or the Duivelshuis.
Arnhem also has a lot of places of interest like the Netherlands Open Air Museum that has antique houses, factories, industries, farms and other notable works collected from every place in the Netherlands. The Burger’s Zoo is also in Arnhem with an underwater feature, desert areas, mangrove and rainforest setting. This zoo is the biggest and the most-visited in the country.
You cannot miss Arnhem residents’ love for sport and apart from all kinds of sports is their passion for football. They have their own football club Vitesse. The city has Gelredome the home of the Vitesse. This stadium has retractable roof along with a slide-out grass area comparable to other stadiums in the world like the University of Phoenix in Glendale, Arizona, USA and the Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen, Germany.
Arnhem has an efficient transport hub with a main railway station called the Arnhem railway station serviced by the ICE to Dusseldorf. There are high speed trains that connect the city to other European cities and even a line that can carry passengers till Moscow. What’s unique about Arnhem is that they have their own trolley bus system.
